WP-Cache is probably the most widely used caching plugin for WordPress. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support windows and numerous people failed with the installation. This article describes how to run WP-Cache on Windows.

While CSS and CSS2 support various ways of styling list items, the capabilities are still limited. list-style-type allows to select different predefined list styles (bullets, squares etc). list-style-image allows to select custom images. Unfortunately, no option to use custom characters exists.

In an attempt to improve download speed and availability, I’ve upgraded the download links (primary download site) to use CoralCDN. Coral is peer-to-peer content distribution network aimed at providing high-availability and -performance download experience.
It’s simple to use as well- all needed to be done was adding nyud.net:8080 to the download URL: http://www.cpuidle.de/download/cpuidleextreme.zip becomes http://www.cpuidle.de.nyud.net:8090/download/cpuidleextreme.zip

Seems WP2 is experiencing the same issues with stricter MySQL5 SQL rules as many other free software packages.
While videoDB should have it’s MySQL5 issues sorted out, WP2 is still struggeling, event with latest 2.0.1 release- although the issue has been open since december 2005.
Quickly upgraded blog to WordPress 2.0.1, and while being at it installed SpamKarma 2 (including plugin for Akismet), as over the last days suddenly hundreds of comments where waiting for moderation. This should keep the blog clean and my attention focused.
